In respect, to our Sausage sizzle last Saturday it started slow (weather not kind) but ended in a flurry as all snags were sold out by close, a great job by all who assisted and well done to Ron Hunt for again showing that raising money does not have to be hard work or boring. Interacting with general public also makes for lively conversation and fun times. Good job ! Anyone interested in learning the ropes from Ron please speak to him as we need to have new organisers come to the fore if we want this successful activity to continue. No offence Ron, but your not getting younger and we need to get some young guns to take over what you have done extremely well, with superb assistance from Kevin Field).
Planning ahead—the Melbourne Conference Early Bird flies the coup on 9th December so enrol now or pay more. Some wonderful speakers and activities are lined up for all to enjoy and even some prizes for getting in early—stay tuned to your mail box for more details. Please let Darcy Brennan or myself know if you are coming (or have enrolled already).
Next week Dec 1st is our annual Christmas function (evening) and we have some entertainment lined up but generally don't have a speaker as we want everyone to mix and enjoy the company and conversation among members, partners and guests. ($45 per person—will include a special menu, bottle of initial bottle of wine per table and initial soft-drinks + and $10 goes towards pre-arranged gifts from Santa) Make sure Ron Hunt knows you are coming...have you been good ?
